Joseph Dunca, the owner of The King's Bolete, is a passionate citizen mycologist who has studied mycology in college and has graduated from UC Davis with a
B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior.
As he kept studying and hunting for them, he became intrigued with the beauty and diversity of mushrooms, and was thoroughly convinced of their health benefits. He also discovered that they made ordinary dishes extraordinary by imparting their rich flavors to food. Now through education, he is seeking to raise awareness of these incredible organisms so that future generations would value and appreciate fungi, and be equipped and empowered to discover their real potential to help solve many of the problems facing our planet today.
